The Booktube Corner: 2015 Readathons and Bout of Books 12.0

Welcome to the booktube corner! This is where the latest news about the booktube community is going to take place.

Readathons is a great invention that someone has created among the book community . Readathons are a great way to encourage everyone to read more. Readathons can be held for up to 24 hours or periodically throughout the year. Ever since the booktube community has been created, more and more booktubers have either partnered up or individually created readathons. Readathons could either have challenges or there are some readathons that are more flexible in allowing you to set your own reading goal for yourself. I, Ellen, have hosted a readathon on instagram (@pottermorebooks) before. Yes, I said it. Instagram. Now that the social media network such as facebook, instagram, twitter, youtube, and so forth is a norm for the modern culture, more book lovers are joining the internet. Most people could be introverts and are intimidated by the fact of showing their face and talking in front of the camera, so they choose to join social media networks such as instagram. Therefore, creating the bookstagram community. But today, we will just be focusing on the booktube community only.

Now that the new year has arrived, it seems like a lot of book bloggers and booktubers have already planned numerous readathons for readers. The lovely Catriona, from littlebookowl, have created a video with a wonderful long list of readathons. You can watch her video here, and make sure to leave her a lovely thank you note for making us this wonderful list!

In the video, Catriona has mentioned about the Bout of Books 12.0 readathon that occurs from January 5-11. This is a great way to kick off the year by reading more and knocking off some of those leftover books from 2014 you may have or just starting your reading challenge off the right way, so it’s like killing two birds in one stone as they say. The Bout of Books Readathon was created by the lovely Amanda from On a Book BenderThis readathon is a week long readathon with optional challenges and giveaways. I, Ellen, have decided to join the Bout of Books readathon once again because like I said before, it’s a great way to kick off the year with a readathon. I will most likely be posting my TBR on my booktube channel once I go to the library and retrieve my books.

If any of you guys are interested in signing up for the Bout of Books 12.0 readathon yourself, you can click here to sign up. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
