According to Bustle, Panic was optioned for film rights by Universal even before the novel was released.
Panic is about a group of graduating high school students that live in a small town called Carp compete in a legendary game called Panic which could either make it or break it for them. Their reward? $50,000.
Fans of Panic could expect a possible great outcome for the movie because Universal hired Lauren Oliver herself to screenwrite the movie.
Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, president of the Marc Platt Productions, has been signed on to the project to produce the movie.
