With “The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” release date is dwindling down, fans of The Maze Runner series by James Dashner is speculating about how the last installment, The Death Cure, is going to be split up. Traditionally, the last installments of movies such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Hunger Games: Mockingjay, & Allegiant gets split in 2 parts. However, according to Movie News Guide, fans can expect “The Death Cure” to be split into 5 parts.
Here’s what the director, Wes Ball, has to say in the interview with the Movie News Guide website:
“Fans want to see exactly what Dashner wrote – and I’m not the one to let fans down.”
It’s true. He’s definitely not the guy to discourage the fans. By splitting “The Death Cure” into five parts, he’ll have more time to focus on the story and allow the fans to truly envision the story for what it really is.
However, the article continues by saying that this is untrue. Collider ultimately revealed that “The Death Cure” will not be joining the bandwagon with the other movies and it will stay as a single film. Although, it is suggested that there could be a prequel to the franchise since Dashner has added “The Kill Code” to the series.
“The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” is expected to be released in theaters on September 18th, 2015 while “The Death Cure” is expected to be released in March 2017.
